I worked on the Spanish mural everyday. This is because this is the mural I designed. I drew it and painted it each and everyday, with Akasha. Something that I enjoyed most with these murals was that I felt more freedom and more hands on, we got to get out of the classroom. The most challenging part of the mural was trying to get straight lines and angels on the divots in the walls. My favorite job when doing the moral was making the final decisions and color choices. The Spanish mural will have an effect on this hallway because there wasn't much happening and shows that Spanish has more to their culture other than just speaking a different language.

My assemblage sculpture represents choices. Everyone makes choices every day and your choices have consequences. In my sculpture, I choose to show more negative choices and decisions and kind of how karma can affect you. My sculpture is barbies hanging in water so that they are being electrocuted by the jumper cables. The playing cards represent that life is a game of choices, and if you play your cards right then you will turn out okay. But if not karma will catch up with you. I wanted to shock people by literally creating a shock in my artwork with the electrocution. I think that I was most successful with creating the shocking effect because people will look at this and definitely be shocked, by how these barbies (which are children's toys) are being shocked and hung.
I want to use the space right next to the Spanish Room for the first picture. My second picture is a Motif that I want to put outside of the library. All students pass by the Spanish room and in the hallway, going from class to class. The people that pass by the library, and are coming in and out of the library, and anyone else who comes or leaves the school by the back door. Because it is very dark, bull and boring over there in the hallway, we need some colorful patterns over there to brighten up the space. My design improves this space because it has meaning to the library and it has brightly painted colors for the dull area.
I chose to do three different styles for this still life. I used the impression style for the background. I used abstract and futurism for the objects. I used this style in my artwork by creating texture in the background with brush strokes. And I used the other two styles in my work in the objects by breaking the objects apart and kind of disfiguring them. I chose to use watercolor paint for the background of my work to help show those dull pastel colors with the brush strokes. And for the medium of the rest of my art worked I picked acrylic paint because it layers well and shows bright colors good as well. One of the most difficult parts of this artwork was making the objects look symmetrical, which was hard because they were at different angles and not right next to each other. Something I am proud of from doing this art work is getting the background spot on to what I wanted it to look like. This is because sometimes it can be difficult to mix color water and work with them.I have always wanted to visit the Bahamas and see the Pink Sand Beach, that is the place that I choose to recreate in this project. I feel that my painting skills improved from this project because I learned how to make paint less textured and more smooth, by adding thin layers or even putting a little bit of water on the brush while painting. I focused most on patterns and neatness, I focused most on this because I do have OCD and that is what I wanted to look right in this project, and usually what I always focus on. I am really pleased how the rocks turned out, I like that they show texture and the different colors. I am also pleased with the swirls or the patterns on the clouds because I feel that you can see the details in the clouds. One thing I would have done differently is the water pattern, I feel that there isn't enough or it is too plain compared to the other patterns. I would add more detail and maybe do another design with that one so the space looks more filled. I would do the water differently because in my opinion it draws attention to itself because it doesn't match the rest of the painting, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
For the stencil objects I choose them all because I felt they went together in a weird way. I kind of picked random flower shapes and then any other stencil that I just enjoyed. I really didn't arrange any of them in a specific order, I made it so it looked random. One thing that is very unique to my drawing is in the very left hand corner I repeatedly did my signature. My favorite design that I used was the wavy circles around each other, this is my favorite because it reminds me of a geode and I love rocks. I definitely improved on my visual inspiration and imagination skills.
